In a nutshell, during the mid 1980s, Howard Marks (aka Mr. Nice) had 43 aliases, 89 phone lines, and 25 companies trading throughout the world. Bars, recording studios, offshore banks: all were money-laundering vehicles serving the core activity: dope dealing. If you missed Howard here in July 2011, you missed a treat. His incredible tales of a past you couldn't even begin to imagine, were totally spell-binding and very funny to boot. Fear not, he returns to us to share even more fascinating and jaw-dropping stories of a master devious mind! Musical support from Indica Bale and Cal Roberts.

The Rollers' first hit single Remember reached No. 6 in the UK charts in 1973; that was quickly followed by Shang-A-Lang, Summerlove Sensation and All Of Me Loves All Of You all hitting the Top 5. Bye Bye Baby was their first UK No. 1 in May 1975 followed by Give A Little Love in July. Their first album, Rollin', was the first debut album to top the charts. Between 1975 and 1978, they toured all over the world and played to sold out crowds in the across the world. Les McKeown put together a new band of talented musicians in the early 90s and today audiences are treated to all the old BCR hits reworked for the new millennium, alongside exciting new material. Roll back the years and hear them live, here at the Tivoli.

Famed for making ill-tempered music with a social conscience, Birkenhead band Half Man Half Biscuit, formed in the early eighties, 'merely as a way of getting through the day'. Quickly picked up by the angst-ridden youth of the eighties, their punk driven, lyrical rants, and protests against all things celebrity and fake, became the unofficial anthems of the underground. Still releasing new material, still as satirical as ever, we extend a warm welcome to Birkenhead's finest.

In the late 80's and early 90's The Wedding Present were one of the most famous British indie bands. It's 21 years since they released their 3rd acclaimed album 'Sea Monsters' and the band are touring it to mark the anniversary, and although the band has seen a few band members come and go, original songwriter David Gedge remains at the helm. The Weddoes last played the Tivoli Venue at the height of their fame in the 90's and we are genuinely overwhelmed to be welcoming them back two decades on.
