The DB Band story started when Mick Quinn, formerly of Britpop legends Supergrass needed a new outlet after the band finally hung up their sideburns in 2010.
Mick scoured the streets and back alleys of Oxford in search of the ideal musical partnership. He walked out into the sunshine with Paul Wilson, formerly of Shake Appeal and had found just what he was looking for. Nick Aspey then fell from the skies and onto the drums and they became the wonderful rock combo that is DB Band.
Mick has taken up the mantel of lead singer in this latest project, and does a fine job of it, though it's no surprise when you look back to his vocal input during the reign of Supergrass, which was always incredibly creative and accurate. He is also more likely to be found playing rip-roaring electric guitar more than his familiar bass these days, which is where Paul Wilson deputises quite effortlessly.
If you were/are a fan of the late, great Supergrass, Mick has maintained a clearly audible undertone of 'grass DNA for all to enjoy, which we're all obviously very grateful for, though it's fair to say this highly melodically-skilled three piece are slightly less-poppy and a tad more rocky, and certainly not to be missed!
So here's your homework... go and track down their 'Stranger in the Alps' EP and digest it thoroughly (listen to it below first), then try and find out what the DB stands for (we think Dirty Beard), then come and see them live at this exclusive show at the The Tivoli Venue. And at only £7 a ticket, that's your Springtime well and truly made!
“"You owe it to yourself - you owe it to all who look up to you - check out the DB Band and all the pleasures that await you. Genius brought to your ears and phonograph player. You'll be glad you did!"
Dr. Louie 'Louie' Munster (DB Band)

The Peace CreaturesDescribed by one onlooker once as "better than life itself", this 5, 6, sometimes 7 piece or more ambient-indie-rock combo from Deeside must have been around the block a few times in various forms. Put together in 2011 as some kind of Frankenstein's Monster made from space debris, the band is led by Roy Oldfield, formerly of Beluga, the others are a mish-mash of musical men and sometimes even a musical woman. Come in peace to hear what they have to offer to your ears and more importantly, your life.

Cal Roberts and the Ill Gotten GainsThe superbly entertaining and talented Cal Roberts and his band the Ill Gotten Gains provide tunes earlier in the night, which should ignite the crowd rather than simply warm them up! Cal is a singer songwriter from North Wales, who, after extensive solo gigging in the UK and on the Continent including numerous support slots with the likes of Pete Doherty, has finally stepped it up a gear, locked the acoustic in the shed, dusted off the old Fender Jag and rallied up his best mates to form a cracking live band. His edgy, opinion-driven rock style has energy in abundance, and you can count Pete Doherty and Happy Mondays' Bez within his ever-growing fanbase.
