Ruts DC

Saturday 29th November 2014

Ruts DC return by popular demand following a show-stopping performance supporting The Damned at the venue last year. They were formed in 1981 by the rhythm section and guitarist (Dave Ruffy and Seggs) of The Ruts. The Ruts had had three whirlwind years of success and much critical acclaim - excellent releases included the singles "Babylons Burning", "Jah War", "Something That I Said" and "Staring At The Rude Boys" and the albums "The Crack", "Grin And Bear It" and John Peel Sessions. The famous Radio 1 DJ strongly supported the band's debut single "In A Rut" that was put out by reggae band Misty In Roots as they shared the common fight against racism and the National Front. This gig comes highly recommended for lovers of punk, dub reggae and energetic, hook-filled rock music.

Saturday 6th December 2014

Stiff Little Fingers are the original 70s punks from Belfast still fronted by the iconic Jake Burns. Unlike many of the genre, SLF's music combines lyrics that meld the personal and political, music that combines the energy of punk with infectious hooks, and delivery that rings of honesty and commitment. They return to the Tiv to blow your punky socks off once again!

Goldblade

Saturday 28th February 2015

Goldblade unleashes the musical equivalent of a full-on beach assault incorporating heavy artillery, landing craft and an assortment of nuclear field weapons. With a fierce intelligence and a thirst for esoteric knowledge that matches a music that is visceral and almost spiritual in its primal spirit Goldblade are like no other band. John Robb, like some punk-ass James Brown, charges the band into the thick of battle. Prepare to be irradiated by their high-energy glam-soul-punk sound.

Blood Brothers

Saturday 3rd May 2015

It is with great pleasure and relish that MWIS are able to announce the return of the mighty and legendary 'BLOOD BROTHERS'! 5 rare shows have been confirmed for next year. The timing of the shows may well have something to do with the fact that The Mission are making a few festival appearances around the same time but then again we could be wrong. The Blood Brothers are a law unto themselves. The Blood Brothers will be playing at The Tivoli, Buckley, on Saturday 23rd May, And two months later, the lads will be getting their beards out of mothballs to play a two night special at the 02 Academy, Islington, London on Weds 22nd and Thurs. 23rd July!
Asked to comment on the BB's return, singer and guitarist Albie Mischenzingerzen commented: "After the last Blood Brother shows I had to go into rehab for a while and when I came out I've been doing this creative therapy course for the last year or so. Managed to make a solo album called 'Album Of The Year'. You'll find it at all the best record stores and I'm sure it'll get mentioned in all the end-of-year issues of all the music magazines. I feel like I've got my mojo back so will have to be very careful not to overdo it on these band shows as rehab is too expensive to go through again. It'll be good to meet up with the lads again, it feels like it's a been a long while. You know I'm not as sprightly as I once was and my hip has been playing me up a bit recently too so I doubt I'll be doing much rolling around the stage at these shows. I will be rocking though!"

The Fall

Friday 9th October 2015

Seminal '70s post-punk band formed in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, led by the inimitable Mark E Smith. Of all the late-'70s punk and post-punk bands, none are longer-lived or more prolific than The Fall, having been known to always push boundaries, and never afraid to experiment. Famously described as 'always different, always the same' by BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel, they have maintained their cult status over the decades with an ever-evolving style that still maintains a foundation of jagged guitars, sing-speak vocals, and keyboards to create experimental, abrasive and dense musical cacophony.

From The Jam

Thursday 26th November 2015

From the Jam features Bruce Foxton from the original Jam line up. They have played at The Tivoli Venue 3 times now in 2 years, to roaring success, and we welcome them back for a fourth time on their 'Sound Affects' tour. From The Jam have gained a reputation for the kind of incendiary 'live' performances that sealed the reputation of The Jam all those years ago.
